Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Wanna Run ("we", "us", "our") collects,
uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application
and related services (the "Services").
1. What data we collect
-
Account information: name, email address, profile
photo.
-
Profile information: profile details such as your
name, username, bio, gender, profile photo, and running preferences.
-
User content: posts, comments, invites, and other
content you create.
-
Location data: precise or approximate location when
you enable location features (e.g. finding nearby runners or routes).
-
Usage data: basic app interaction data and device
information needed to operate the app.
-
Media: photos you upload (e.g. profile picture).
-
Push notification data: device push tokens and
notification preferences, used to send notifications you enable.
2. Why we collect it
-
To provide core app functionality, such as matching runners and
routes.
- To personalize your experience.
- To maintain and improve the app.
- To ensure safety, support user preferences, and prevent abuse.
-
To help runners choose the kinds of public runs they feel comfortable
joining or creating. For example, some people may want to create or
join women-only runs for safety, comfort, or community.
-
To send push notifications such as invites, reminders, and updates.
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party providers:
-
Supabase: authentication, database, and backend
services.
- Mapbox: maps and location-based features.
-
Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store services.
- Expo: push notification delivery services.
These providers may process your data on our behalf. We do not sell your
personal data.
4. Data retention
-
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted upon
request.
-
Some limited data may be retained temporarily for legal or operational
reasons.
5. Your rights
-
Delete your account: Available in-app (Settings →
Account → Delete Account). If you cannot access the app, you may
request deletion by emailing privacy@wannarun.fit from the email
address associated with your account.
-
Access or correct data: You can update your profile
in the app.
-

6. Blocking and visibility
WannaRun lets you block other users. Blocking is one-directional and is
designed to control who can see you:
-
When you block someone, your profile is hidden from them. They will
no longer be able to find or view your profile.
-
You will still be able to see the person you blocked — including their
profile, runs, and comments. This is intentional: it lets you stay
informed and decide for yourself whether you feel safe and comfortable
joining or interacting with runs that involve the people you choose to
run with.
- Blocking is not announced to the other person.
7. Children
This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect data from children.
8. Push notifications, tracking, and advertising
We may send push notifications related to your account, running invites,
reminders, messages, or app updates. You can control notification
permissions through your device settings.
We do not track users across third-party apps or websites and do not use
targeted advertising.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is
completely secure.
10. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. We use
appropriate safeguards where required.
